Detroit Artists Market issues this CALL FOR ENTRY to the 2010 All Media Exhibition. Entries are due delivered or postmarked by March 19, 2010. Opening on April 30th, this show will feature a wide array of work by area artists. Our guest Juror this year is Curtis Rhodes, artist and professor emeritus of Western Michigan University.
Entry Procedure
· Artists may submit up to two entries.
· Entries will be juried by digital images in JPEG or TIF format.
· One image for each 2-dimensional artwork and up to three images for each 3-dimensional artwork may be submitted.
· All images must be of professional quality.
Digital Format
Digital files may be submitted on a Microsoft Windows-compatible CD in JPEG or TIF file format only. No application format files will be accepted (such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc) The top of the image should be oriented to the top of the screen. Each digital image should be clearly marked with artist’s name and title of work as the file name. Indicate entry A or B. File size must be at least 300 dpi, larger than 800K and not exceed 2MB.
Entry Fee
A non-refundable entry fee entitles each artist to submit two artworks. The fee is $25 for nonmembers and $10 for members. Entry with Artists membership is $40. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted. Please make all checks payable to the Detroit Artists Market.
Presentation
Artwork must be prepared in a professional manner for installation. The backs of 2-dimensional artwork should have the artwork label completed and firmly attached. The juror reserves the right to remove any artwork not accurately represented by submitted digital images.
Sales
DAM retains 1/3 (33.33%) commission for staffing, processing and making sales. Michigan sales tax is collected and submitted. Payments to artists will be no later than 30 days after the closing of the exhibition.

Eligibility
This all-media exhibition is open to all Michigan and Ontario residents 18 and older. Artists may submit a maximum of two entries in any media created within the last two years. Works submitted must not have been previously shown at the Detroit Artists Market. All works submitted must be available for sale.
Delivery and Pick-Up
Works may be hand delivered or shipped. If shipping, the artist is responsible for complying with all regulations pertaining to works of art. Artists must make arrangements for return shipping and cover all expenses. All works must be delivered and picked up on the dates specified in the calendar.
Liability
Every precaution will be taken to assure protection of the work; however the Detroit Artists Market is not responsible for loss or damage.
Juror
Curtis A. Rhodes’ background as an artist has spanned over four decades. He has a BFA in Painting from University of Kansas and an MFA in Painting from Ohio University. He began teaching painting, drawing, printmaking and art history at Western Michigan University in the late sixties. Throughout his career, he has done commission projects with Twin Rocker and Jinn Paper Mill in Frankfurt, Germany, designing and producing paper for book projects. As a master printmaker, he has printed fine art lithographs for a select group of painters and sculptors. His prints, drawings and paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and his work is held in several public and private collections. In 2003 he was Artist in Residence at Hill End, N.S.W. Australia, and he returned to exhibit a group of mixed-media works based on his experience there. He is interested in the intersections of contemporary and primal cultures, and his work can be found at http://www.curtisarhodes.com

The DAM Exhibition Committee will select a small number of artists to participate in a group exhibition in the summer of 2011.
Agreement
Submitting an entry to this competition shall constitute the agreement with all conditions in this prospectus. The Detroit Artists Market reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for publicity purposes.
