Light: Observations of the Mundane
My artwork is the combination of sculpture, painting, printmaking and filmmaking. I see ost of my films as paintings, the reason I consider them as such is the process in which they are created. I use all the materials a painter, sculptor and printmaker would use. In most paintings you are looking a t a three-dimensional object on a two-dimensional picture plane, much like in my films. The slow movements give nearly the same effects as most still-life paintings and all are made to play continuously. My paintings contain energy, whether it is in the concept, imagery or the physical. Creating realistic false realites has been a great concept for me to explore and not only do I have the actual artworks used to create the scene in the film; I also have the films themselves.
