Artist Statement
I've bin in the Arts for about the last 6 years. Experimenting a lot with mixed media. My art is primarily inspired by consumer products, marketing and social ignorance. I see myself as more as a collagist than as a painter because of my ambitions to explore other materials and techniques. I find that I didn't choose to be an artist, and I wasn't born as one. I'm not sure why I do it; it's just something I feel I have to do as a human being My work speaks of consumerism, mass production, industrialization, preservatives, food processing and social decay. My main body of work looks at ones self through what they consume. Food products full of preservatives and byproducts are a part of our everyday culture. We live in the realm of a technological society, the air we breath, the pollution in our water, the cigarettes we smoke, and the food we eat are all contributors to the diseased mankind faces such as Diabetes, Melanoma, Heart disease, cancer and so on. I feel if we took a look at each of these additions we can over come our sickness.
