Scholarship and Exhibition Opportunity: The Detroit Artists Market (DAM) has selected Cranbrook Academy of Art as the beneficiary of the 2023 John F. Korachis Annual Scholarship Awards and Exhibition. All currently enrolled Cranbrook Academy of Art 1st and 2nd year graduate students from all departments, including ceramics, design, fibers, metals, painting, photography, print media, sculpture, and architecture are invited to apply for this scholarship and exhibition program. Scholarship finalists (usually 9 – 12 students) are selected by the scholarship committee and will be invited to exhibit multiple works of art in the forthcoming scholarship exhibition, which opens on March 10, 2023 at the Detroit Artists Market, along with invited alumni and faculty. All exhibited works must be for sale. The three student scholarship recipients will be announced during the exhibition opening reception.
Scholarship Application/Call for Entry forms will be available beginning Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Application and forms can be found at DAM, as well as on the Detroit Artists Market website www.detroitartistsmarket.org as a downloadable PDF. You can also secure copies of the Application Form from your corresponding department. Completed application forms and supporting images and materials must be emailed to DAM by January 3, 2023 to Kelly Farrell, Gallery Manager, at email@example.com.
The Opening Reception for the scholarship exhibition will be Friday, March 10, 2023, 6- 9 p.m., and the exhibition will continue through April 8, 2023 at the Detroit Artists Market, located at 4719 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48201. The opening reception of the scholarship exhibition is a well-attended, celebratory event.
