DAM hosts a yearly open call for artists to apply to be DAM’s next Featured Artist. Selected artists present a solo exhibition on the Featured Artist Wall, a 15’w x 7’h display area is prominently located at the gallery’s Forest Ave. entrance. DAM’s Featured Artist Wall showcases early-career artists who are new to exhibiting their work, with scheduling that coincides with our annual exhibition calendar. This spotlight provides a great opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase a body of work and connect with local collectors.

FAQ
Why do you cap the price point for work at $500?
Encouraging Sales & Exposure – Pricing artwork competitively increases the likelihood of sales. The more artwork that is purchased and collected, the more visibility an artist gains.
Accessibility for Buyers – Price caps ensure that the work remains accessible to new and diverse collectors, encouraging more people to invest in emerging artists. Keeping prices within a set range aligns with buyer expectations and helps foster a sustainable market for new artists.
Maintaining Program Goals – The Featured Artist program aims to create opportunities for artists who are still building their careers. A price cap keeps the playing field level, ensuring that the program remains focused on showcasing talent rather than market-driven competition.
