"In this body of work I use varied illustrative methods to create striking, but faded and at times blurred images that speak to the ephemeral yet somehow persistent nature of love, grief, and our memories and feelings towards others. The inner feelings and desires of myself and many others, become strained and remolded into what is considered acceptable under the constraints of late stage capitalism, which urges us to put our heads down, not feel, not connect, and not linger in pursuit of perfection in productivity.

This particular collection draws from the concept of the anchorite, a religious figure who choses isolation in dedication to spiritual practice and division from secular society. I aim in my work and re-contextualizing the themes of my pieces to explore the idea of the modern anchorite, and how we chose and/or at times are pressured into restriction under the premise of devotion to other concepts, systems, and relationships."
