Cynthia Williams

Cynthia Williams is a highly respected and accomplished artist specializing in nautical, seascape and landscape oils. Her paintings capture the essence of life through art and the beauty of nature. Ms. Williams’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous respected galleries and private art collections. Her painting, Summer Garden, was selected for the prestigious, juried Northville Art House West of Center exhibition in June, 2015. Cynthia’s art work has been on display at the By the Bay Art Gallery in Harbor Springs, Michigan and at Michigan Made in Plymouth, Michigan. In December, 2003 her work was selected for an exhibition at the Plymouth Arts Council. Ms. Williams studied drawing, painting and Art History at Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a M.A. of Arts. Cynthia worked in Counseling and Art therapy for over twenty-eight years. Throughout her career, Cynthia effectively utilized art therapy to reach children, adolescents and adults who experienced trauma in their lives and to assist them in their personal healing process. In 2014, Ms. Williams was awarded the Ford Motor Company, Ford Freedom Award. The 2014 Ford Freedom Award celebrated those who have demonstrated the power of perseverance and unwavering commitment to their community.
