Rush Me to Sleep
West Bloomfield, Michigan based photographer, Kaitlyn Rode, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Photography. Presently she is working to hone her artistry, and is best known for her portraits of young women. Her most recent solo show, Breaking the Jar, was inspired by Sylvia Plath’s only novel, The Bell Jar. The show consisted of seven 24 by 36 inch digital ink jet prints mounted on aluminum. The exhibition emphasized themes of female expectation, mental illness, and growth; all in which continue to appear in Rode’s work.
