Artist Statement
My art maintains continuity in experimentation, layering whether physical or symbolic, the inclusion of text bridging graphic design, craft and fine art in an interdisciplinary, mixed media medley. My inspiration comes from popular cultures, literature, life events, little details of the everyday, subjects that transcend time and our common experience and am especially interested in how societal roles, especially how they relate to women are portrayed. It is a personal dialogue, a visual diary. Currently my work has been greatly influenced with letterpress printing, incorporating vintage printing cuts and printing with manual presses such as platen and cylinder presses. My art practice is process heavy, intuitively executed with a base idea that grows organically depending on the specific process and/or material. All work are original, one-of-a-kind, hand-printed, limited-edition series or monoprints.
