I have been creating this unique style honoring a very important movement of Art, Dada: Dada was an art movement formed during the First World War in Zurich in negative reaction to the horrors and folly of the war. The art, poetry and performance produced by dada artists is often satirical and nonsensical in nature. Due the lack of artistic supplies lead into a very creative result, using recycle paper from books and propaganda.
In my series “Dada,” I channel the spirit of that rebellion—through faces. These are not portraits in the traditional sense. They are emotional collages, absurd masks, fractured expressions that speak both universally and in code
