Rachel Brunhild is a Michigan-based fiber artist and educator working in and around Metro Detroit. Rachel received a Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College for Art and Design in Fibers. She presented her MFA thesis exhibition Breath: Meditation and Mindfulness through Weaving and Stitch at Cedar House Gallery in the spring of 2023. Her work was presented in a solo exhibition at the Woods Gallery in the Fall of 2024. She was invited to and attended the Pentaculum residency at Arrowmont. Brunhild has co-curated and exhibited in galleries and art spaces such as Playground Detroit, Lawrence Street Gallery, Gifts of Art Gallery at UM Health, and the Boyer Campbell Building.
“I use a predominantly black and white color palette to bring the work down to its most simple components: Composition, texture, and the balance of color. This work connects my breath and body allowing me to create as an act of meditation.”
