(DETROIT) –Detroit Artists Market is pleased to present To the End of the Earth, an exhibition that brings together artists who seek to improve our bleak ecological reality through artwork that opposes political policy, presents objective data analysis, and conveys compelling emotional narratives. The vast American landscape has shaped this nation’s identity, but our exploitation of its natural resources puts us on the brink of environmental disaster. To the End of the Earth is about the relationship between human civilization and the natural world, a continuation of an important topic covered by artists ranging from Thomas Cole—founder of the Hudson River School—to contemporary environmental artist, Andrea Polli. To the End of the Earth furthers this dialog by bringing together artists who are dealing with environmental issues.

Curator Adrian Hatfield has assembled 15 exceptional artists to participate in the exhibition including: Brian Barr, Kristin Beaver,  Allan Bennetts II, Taurus Burns, Dominique de Gery, Jason DeMarte, Lauren Kalman, Jessye McDowell, Michael McGillis, Lauren Rice, Clinton Snider, Ryan Standfest, Millee Tibbs, Margi Weir and Peter Williams.

To the End of the Earth opens on Friday, September 8, 2017, 6-9 p.m and runs through October 14. During the run of the exhibition, DAM is also showcasing the photographs of Susan Tusa on its “Featured Artist Wall.” Located at 4719 Woodward Avenue in Detroit (three blocks south of the Detroit Institute of Arts, and one block north of MOCAD), the Detroit Artists Market is a non-profit organization open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Exhibitions are free of charge. For more information on DAM and its programs, please call (313) 832-8540, e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or visit
