The Detroit Artists Market teamed up with five amazing artists—Andrew Krieger, Jerome Ferretti, Clinton Snider, Chris Turner and Kobe Solomon—to produce an outdoor mural gallery that plays an important part in the September 25 launch of the vision for Detroit’s new sports and entertainment district, a project led by Ilitch Holdings. Each DAM artist displayed their unique vision and artistic style by painting 40 ft. long steel shipping containers, which together form the entrance to an impressive temporary stadium that will host a variety of events over the next two weeks. Visitors to the downtown site—located between Sproat and Sibley streets—will have the opportunity to skate on the official Red Wings synthetic ice rink at the future location of the new arena from Saturday, September 27 – Sunday, October 5 (6-9p on weekdays/10a-2p on weekends). Governor Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will join Olympia Entertainment officials for the September 25 announcement of the $650 million dollar project that will redevelop nearly 50 blocks of the city.
