Creative Entrepreneurship Workshops bridge the gap between artistic practice and the economic realities of sustaining a career in the arts. Designed for early- and mid-career artists in Southeast Michigan, these hands-on programs offer practical, peer-led learning to help build sustainable creative careers. Each program track consists of three weekly sessions that explore essential skills and strategies for artists and creatives. Participants may attend any sessions of interest—previous attendance is not required.

Program Costs & Registration

Earned income helps us sustain free and low cost programs for all artists, without the restriction of financial barriers. We offer a pay-what-you-can model and no one is turned away for lack of funds. These workshops are free for DAM members and open to the public with a suggested contribution of $15. RSVP is required and spots are limited.

Innovation and Experimentation

This curriculum encourages artists to explore experimental projects and unconventional approaches to their work. From integrating technology in art to embracing digital mediums, participants will gain exposure to cutting-edge techniques that push the boundaries of traditional art. The goal is to cultivate a culture of innovation that propels artistic growth and success in the ever-evolving landscape of the creative industry.

Through targeted outreach, inclusive programming, and community engagement, artists will gain insights into creating art spaces that celebrate diversity and promote accessibility. The curriculum emphasizes the role of art as a catalyst for social change, encouraging artists to initiate community projects and build partnerships for social impact. By fostering inclusivity in the art world, this section aims to create an environment where all voices can not only be heard but flourish.
