The Detroit Artists Market presents the Boogie Down Block Party on Saturday, July 10, noon to 5 p.m. This fun summertime festival, held in the parking lot behind the gallery, features works for purchase created exclusively by DAM’s artist members, including paintings, drawings, prints, photography, ceramics and jewelry. Visitors will also enjoy hot dogs and sliders from the Mean Weenie food truck, refreshments such as Ghettoblaster beer, and dance tunes played through a collection of vintage boomboxes.
The Block Party is a great opportunity for current members of the Detroit Artists Market to exhibit their work to a wide audience of art fans and potential buyers. The call for art in all media runs May 4 – June 5, 2021. Current members can enter by paying a $10 jury fee and submitting up to 10 works for consideration on the “call-for-entry” section of DAM’s website. Nonmembers pay $45, which bundles an annual artist membership with the jury fee.
